Cornet Star is approved as a 2 year old stallion for the Hanover studbook and bought at the auction by Studfarm de Breemeersen.
Cornet Star was purchased on 29 October 2016 by Studfarm de Breemeersen during the auction of the approved Hanoverian stallions in Verden. At that time there was already a lot of interest in this young gray stallion because of his remarkable appearance but also because of his exceptional genetic predisposition.
Cornet Star has in his pedigree at least 11 direct ancestors who jumped at Grand Prix level 1.60m: Cornet Obolensky, Clinton, Corrado I, Heartbreaker, Nimmerdor, Silvano, Ramiro, Quick Star, Galoubet A, Alme, Stella The blood composition of this young stallion is very modern and offers a lot of certainty to the breeders. Due to their strong breeding, with Grand Prix horses in both the sire and dam line, Cornet Star and his offspring are cut out to perform at Grand Prix level.
A remarkable dam line! Cornet Star has an incredible dam line as proven by the large number of Grand Prix horses that jumped 1.60m.
Cornet Star's great-grandmother is the Casino Boy xx daughter Channell I. This mare produced 13 foals of which three horses jumped up to 1.40m and three horses jumped up to 1.60m. One of these horses is the approved stallion Casanova who is at stud with Paul Schockemöhle. From a daughter of this Chanell I comes the approved stallion Camparino (v. Chello) who also jumped 1.60m and is at stud on the langestüt Schwaiganger in Germany.
The grandmother of Cornet Star is the mare ISIS VII (by Capitol I) who gave birth to four offspring including Cornet Star's dam, R-Queen Elis (by Quickstar) who never entered the sport due to an injury but who did a sister has Samanta (by Quick Star) who was successful up to 1.45m level.
If we go back to the great-granddam Channel I, we see that her half-brother Ligorett (v. Lord) is at stud in Holstein and that her half-sister Viola XI (v. Caletto) is in turn the stock dam of some remarkable jumpers. From this Viola XI comes the Holstein approved stallion Casado, the Oldenburg approved Zento (by Quasimodo) but also the world famous Capitol I son CENTO who was so successful with Otto Becker. In addition to very successful showjumpers, we find some highlights from the same dam line: the Zangersheide approved stallion Close Up VA (by Clarimo ask), the Hanover approved stallion Nekton (by Nimmerdor) who jumped 1.50m, the mare Dulcinea La Silla (by Diamant de Semilly) who jumped 1.60m, the mare Lamarque 7 (by Limbus) who jumped 1.55m and the mare Cerona (by Clearway) who in turn was successful at 1.60m.
Cornet Obolensky
From the first day Cornet Obolensky entered the breeding world, the charismatic fungus has captivated athletes and breeders. The audience watched breathlessly at the Westphalian stallion inspection in 2001 how the product of the golden combination Clinton x Heartbreaker played with the obstacles. In the 30-day test, the phenomenal athlete scored a 9.24 for the jumping components and a 10 for the free jumping. The fascination for the jumping force of Cornet Obolensky only increased from the moment the stallion came under the saddle of Marco Kutscher. With dream figures, the couple qualified for the final of the Bundeschampionat. With careless ease she conquered the toughest courses in the world. Out of the first crop of sons of Cornet Obolensky, the top stallions Cristallo I (1.60 jumping with Henrik von Eckermann), Cornado NRW (1.60 jumping with Marcus Ehning) and Conte Bellini (the great discovery of the World Cup Final in Gothenburg in 2013 under the Let Kristaps Neretieks). The phenomenal crack Cornet d'Amour by Daniel Deusser also comes from the first year of Cornet Obolensky. In 2013 this combination became German champion and individually finished fourth at the European Championship in Herning. Also from the first crop of Cornet Obolensky come Marco Kutscher's current top horse Cornet's Cristallo and Emanuele Gaudiano's European Championship crack Cocoshynsky.
Quick Star
The French jumping wonder Quick Star is one of the most legendary jumping stallions of the 1990s. In today's showjumping horse breeding, Quick Star is among the best sires in the world, due to the performances of its famous offspring. For example Stella, Quick Silver, Quick Lauro Z, Queen Z, Quebec, Utah Z and Quality Touch Z. Quick Star is what Meredith Michaels owes her international career to. She started in Palm Beach with the then 7-year-old stallion and immediately won the Grand Prix. This was followed by Europe with Maastricht, Munich and Mannheim, where she also won the Grand Prix. Meredith Michaels about Quick Star: “He was a phenomenon and with an unprecedented imposing appearance. He had springs under his hooves. ” Father Galoubet A managed to seize the Championship title at the national championships of France as a 5-year-old. In 1982 he won gold with the French team at the World Championships in Dublin. Galoubet A is known as the father of more than 30 approved sons. Mother Stella has also competed internationally by taking second place in the Grand-Prix of Stuttgart.
